Hosted by Queen City Community Connect Coalition (QC4), this session focused on the topic of housing resources in Mecklenburg County. By sharing resources and needs, QC4 can empower CHWs to contribute to a more effective community health ecosystem, aligning closely with QC4’s mission.
Purpose and Impact
The Resource Roundup sessions aim to streamline information flow, enhance collaboration, and empower CHWs to better serve their communities, directly supporting not only QC4’s mission, but is in alignment with Core CHW roles and responsibilities as outlined by the C3 Project. Participation in Resource Roundups is exclusive to active coalition members, ensuring a committed and cohesive community. Additionally, QC4’s Resource List is a member exclusive. Alignment with Core CHW Roles
QC4’s commitment to unifying, equipping, and empowering was vividly demonstrated as CHWs engaged in a collaborative and virtual exchange, sharing valuable housing-related resources. This exchange empowers CHWs and allows them to tailor their resources for assessments, providing personalized care plans. Furthermore, CHWs assess and evaluate the effectiveness of shared resources to improve community health outcomes, with all members contributing to keeping the resources updated to meet the community’s evolving needs.
Next Steps and Opportunities
Looking ahead, CHWs have opportunities to further engage by becoming QC4 members and participating in bi-monthly meetings and future Resource Roundup sessions. Active members can also submit requests for Resource Roundup topics during upcoming meetings, ensuring sessions remain relevant and address evolving needs.
Conclusion
Thank you to all CHWs who participated in our first Resource Roundup Session, laying the groundwork for continued collaboration, resource-sharing, and empowerment. Let’s use this momentum to create positive change in Mecklenburg County and beyond, unifying, equipping, and empowering CHWs for the betterment of our communities.
